Lighting and sustainable development
Lighting is at present one of the major issues of Sustainable Development. The programmed disappearance of the classical light bulb will first contribute to generalize the use of fluo-compact bulbs. When the LED technology, which has already replaced the classical bulbs in signaling, matures, it will be extensively used for lighting.
The purpose of this conference is to present the most recent advances in lighting technology while discussing the LEDs in depth, in particular for their setting up which must comply with certain rules. Several speakers who have extensive knowledge of the products already on the market will share their experience with regard to innovative approaches in this area.
Finally, the key issue when lighting solutions are discussed: Showing the impact on the environment of the various technologies ...
Presentations :
Update on LED technology - FERECHTEH TEHERANI - NANOVATION
Focus on use of LEDS - Laurent Massol (Led Engineering Development)
Environmental impact of lighting technologies - Linda Lescuyer (CODDE)
These three presentations will be interspersed with feedback on corporate projects.

CONFERENCES ON INTELLIGENT CLOTHING, A MUST FOR PROFESSIONALS, A FUTURE MARKET FOR CONSUMERS
Coordinated by Jean-Marie Floch -IETR Insa in Rennes Wednesday 7th October.- Room 119, 10am-11.30am.
Intelligent clothing, communications systems worn on the body -- a must for big companies, a future market for consumers.
Professionals' protection needs in terms of safety, natural disasters, emergency services, etc require locating them and analyzing their needs in real-time. Future applications will focus on home assistance, interactive games, etc. and will use these new technologies.
Conferences presented at the RF & Hyper trade show will particularly highlight in relation to this communicating clothing for fire-fighters, post-operative patient monitoring, academic research into communicating clothes and BAN (Body Area Network) type systems, communications systems integrated into the body.
Four conferences will provide examples communication systems in R&D.
10am Electronic textile – Intelligent clothes for fire-fighters - Technisolar Seni (Pascal Barguidjian, Managing Director).
Fire-fighter’s clothing which automatically warns of any toxic gas or radioactivity and any sudden rise in temperature. And fitted with a miniature video camera and a GPS tracker, it remotely warns of any anomaly concerning its wearer, whose pulse and breathing are also measured. The jacket has just received the innovation prize from the recent Prévent'Ouest trade show.
Possible functions:
• Gas detector • Prolonged immobility alert • GPS positioning • Miniature thermal camera/Miniature color camera • Internal/external temperature detector • Built-in lighting and/or tracking system • Radioactivity detector • Transmission of alarms/data by radio.
10.30am The BANET project (Jean Marc Laheurte, university professor).
Wireless Body Area Networks (BAN) already have a well-known acronym describing situations in which sensors and actuators are placed on or around the human body to measure, for example, various physiological parameters in various places on the body and feed these measurements back by radio to a remote unit which processes them and sends them back, takes decisions, alerts, records, etc..
Applications using BAN cover numerous fields from medical to sport via leisure, making it particularly difficult to define a common, standardized air interface and bundle protocol. This is the focus of a study group set up recently within the IEEE 802.15 standardization committee.
The more unusual case of implants, specific to the medical field, must also be taken into account in the architecture for BANs..
Since we can expect to see the role and number of wireless BAN objects and networks increase in our society and associated needs in terms of service quality become more rigorous (robustness, guaranteed link, etc), the problems of coexistence between BANs will become critical..
Furthermore, radio resources are becoming rarer. The recent difficulties encountered in regulating UWB and the growing interest in opportunistic radios demonstrates that any new system must use the spectrum efficiently. This principle must also apply to wireless BAN and personal PAN networks which are to be used in growth markets.
11am Patient monitoring (Philippe Renaudin, Scorvitech).
An example of systems deployed on patients to measure electrocardiogram in real time. The information is then transmitted wirelessly to a reader which processes and centralizes the information. Extensions of these sensors will be presented.
11.30am Antennae on clothes (Jean -Marie Floc'h, IETR).
Numerous research teams are working on deploying antennae on clothes to transmit information. The latest developments in these techniques will be examined before turning to communicating buttons.

The Collège Français de Métrologie invites you to debate these questions with experts in the field: examples of industrial applications and a Q&A are planned.
CONFERENCE ON Innovation FUNDING IN THE ELECTRONICS FIELD ORGANIZED BY asprom:
Organized by ASPROM. Room 119
Tuesday 6th October – from 10.30am to 4.30pm..
10.30am-11am: Introductory address from Philippe Hayat
11am-12 noon: Round table 1: OSEO grants – French research tax credit (CIR) and Young innovative enterprise (JEI) status.
Coordinator: Maurice Mordant, ASPROM.
The research tax credit is a powerful financial tool….provided the rules are followed! Who is affected by the research tax credit? How does it work? What are the main pitfalls to avoid in putting together a claim? What advantages are there to JEI status? What aspects are complementary to the OSEO innovation grants?
Young innovative enterprise (JEI) status is designed to provide significant support to young companies which are very active in R&D and so enable them to make it through the first difficult years in their development, provided they meet certain conditions. What are the five conditions to be a young innovative enterprise?
· Philippe Lapidus, founder of SUBVENTIUM, a company specializing in the CIR credit for innovative SMEs.
· Patrick Baudry, OSEO Innovation.
· Yan Haendjens, VECTRA WAVE.
· Alexandre Zeller, CLIRIS
12 noon-1pm: Round table 2: Innovation funding: From the TEPA law to Capital Risk.
Coordinator: Didier Tranchier, ADELIT.
With the crisis, the words INNOVATION and SME are now on everybody’s lips, like a paean to misfortune, in speeches by politicians and messages from directors of large companies: "INNOVATION in SMEs must be financially sustained, as it is our growth of the future”..
What is the actual situation between big speeches and everyday reality for entrepreneurs? The aim of this round table is to provide you with a concrete response to all entrepreneurs by inviting specialists in funding innovative SMEs to tell you the hows, whys and wherefores.
· Bernard Lorig, Vice President of IT ANGELS.
· Jean-Pierre Humbert, SCIENTIPOLE CAPITAL.
· Frank-David Colin, President of FAISONSAFFAIRE.COM, a business introduction platform.
for entrepreneurs and investors,
1pm-2.30pm: Lunch-drinks.
With the possibility of meeting the various participants in the round tables
2.30pm-3pm: Financing collaborative projects: overview of mechanisms.
by Bernard Malachane: founder of MERIONEO TECHNOLOGY
3pm-4pm: Round table 3: International levers.
Coordinator: Stéphane Lubiarz, ADELIT.
Within two years, an additional 10,000 French companies will be working internationally: this is the ambitious target set by the government. This is a strategic issue: to permanently boost external trade. To do this, a stronger network of sufficiently internationally-focused SMEs must be developed, by offering them a more transparent and effective support service. What needs to change in the SME culture for them to succeed internationally? Why is innovation a vital ingredient for exporting? What marketing policies and human resources ensure the international success of SMEs? Is exporting really expensive?
· Magali Voisin-Ratalle, ITC project manager with UBIFRANCE,.
· Rémi Renausin, National Coordinator with
· Michel Dutheil, head of prospection insurance with COFACE
